It’s that year again…LEAP YEAR!
Technically, we don’t have an extra day of life – this is just how Earth’s orbit works and the numbers simply change. We don’t have one day to halt everything in life. We don’t have two chances to repeat the same day. This is not Ground Hog’s Day. If anything, we just have an extra day of school, but that’s also not true since (as I already said) the numbers simply change. February has now 29 days instead of 28 days. Does that mean there’s more days in a year? Yes. But does that mean you have more opportunities to do things in your life with extra days? No, because that doesn’t change the length of your lifespan.
However, this is still a day to allow us to prolong something. We have one more day in 2016 than we did in 2015 or 2014 or 2013 (note that this does not mean that there are more days total…get it?). What shall we do with it?
This is how I see it: do whatever you what. You have this “extra” day to do something more. Fix your life. Find your passion. Create something new.
Do something you’re scared of.
So here’s my bucket list of the wildest things that…well, are new to me. And perhaps scare me a little. And to me, uncertainty is somewhat scary. Then again, I also included some of the most bizarre activities that come to mind/things I’ve secretly always wanted to do:
- Throw a BYOE (Bring Your Own Everything) Party
- Go cliff diving
- Ditch everything to take a road trip
- Cook a romantic dinner (whether you’re with someone or not)
- Swim with sharks
- Ride a camel
- Approach a big, energetic dog
- Bungee jumping
- Run a full marathon (a plus, if it’s color)
- Pick up a spider
- Drive a racecar
- Stand up for yourself
- Learn how to surf
- Train a dolphin
- Treat yo’self to a picnic lunch
- Bake cookies cut out in your name
- Camp out in your backyard
- Classic movie marathon
- Do a 10,000 piece puzzle
- Go Bowling
- Do something for someone other than yourself
- Go coffee hopping
I’ll leave the rest up to you. After all, this is all about you. And it really all comes to this: if you could do anything in the world, what would you do?
Then go do it.
